Koum — 꿈 — is the Korean word for dream and a portmanteau, of two surnames — mine and my wife's — joined into one word.
I picked up a camera fifteen years ago after seeing Steve McCurry's portraits of India, and I've been chasing the same thing ever since: the love, humanity, and quiet memory hiding inside ordinary scenes.
That search has taken me all over the world with rolls of 35mm film and into the beautiful moments of couples who want their story seen the same way.
I'm always after the same photograph — the one that stands on its own, holds its feeling, and proves we were here. I believe life is already a dream, if we slow down long enough to see it.
My job is to slow down and see yours.
